Show Title: The Blackest Hour Show Length: 1 hour Time-slot: Fridays (preferably) 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Who Would Do It: Christopher Kinson aka DJ CK aka LiGriv Purpose: The Blackest Hour is a one-hour live DJ session showcasing music from artists and musical styles descended from Africa. This is essentially a mix of sounds of the African diaspora with the intent of listeners to dance, groove, exercise, or do nothing at all. The hope is that listeners will want to move their bodies in all ways possible and conceivably impossible as well as give lunch-goers something interesting to listen to over their meals. The sounds may include but are not limited to hip-hop, R & B, jazz, soul, funk, house, salsa, bachata, kizomba, afrobeats, afropop, and their sub-genres. Live vs Pre-recorded: Pre-recorded. I will record mixes at home, edit out profanity, and submit the mp3 file to WRFU to be played. When the pandemic is less of a concern, a live mix would be good. But if profanity in the music is an issue, then pre-recorded sets that are edited might be the best.
